The Club is also responsible for donating trophies for the BBYRA elimination’s for the United States Sailing’s Bemis, Smythe and O’Day Championship. The Ocean Gate Yacht Club, located at the foot of Ocean Gate Avenue and the Toms River is the second oldest yacht club represented in the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association, being in existence since 1909. It is not the right location for a black tie affair...it can be a Saturday night formal wedding, but this place is very beachy, yacht-clubby, relaxed. It was a wonderful morning for all of our members.

In the early 20’s the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association was organized by the yacht clubs on the Bay to promote and encourage one design racing in the area. In 1972 the Money Island Yacht Club merged with TRYC.
