It is up to you to *locate* it. SAIL will automatically racialise your ship objects when it boots up if you choose the BYOS option. Only to find the world completely reset and all of my dropped items disappeared....is this a common problem I should be worried about or just bad luck? Without this mod, there will be some planets that you'll just not be able to visit, as you'll be zooming out instead of clicking on the planet.
